Uganda, often referred to as the “Pearl of Africa,” is a diverse and beautiful country with a rich array of wildlife and stunning landscapes.

1. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park:

  • Mountain Gorilla Trekking: Bwindi is home to approximately half of the world’s mountain gorilla population, making it one of the best places for gorilla trekking. Visitors can embark on guided treks to observe these critically endangered primates in their natural habitat.
  • Birdwatching: The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 350 bird species recorded, including numerous Albertine Rift endemics.

4. Kibale National Park:

  • Chimpanzee Habituation Experience: Join researchers and trackers on a chimpanzee habituation experience, spending extended periods of time with chimpanzee groups as they undergo habituation.
  • Primate Diversity: Kibale is home to 13 primate species, including the largest population of habituated chimpanzees in East Africa, as well as red colobus monkeys and L’Hoest’s monkeys.
  • Birdwatching: The park is also a birding hotspot, with over 375 bird species recorded, including the elusive green-breasted pitta and African pitta.

5. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary:

  • Rhino Tracking: Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can track wild rhinos on foot. Witness these magnificent creatures up close and contribute to their conservation efforts.
  • Birdwatching and Nature Walks: Explore the sanctuary on guided nature walks and spot a variety of bird species, butterflies, and other wildlife.

6. Lake Mburo National Park:

  • Boat Safaris: Enjoy boat safaris on Lake Mburo and observe hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife along the shores.
